From the dialer login window you can perform several functions:
- Click Connect to establish an Internet connection. If you are currently connected, the Connect button will display as Disconnect.
- Click Profile and insert the appropriate information in the required fields.
The profile form is displayed when the button labeled Profile on the main form is selected. It displays the settings for the currently selected profile. This selected profile may also be Deleted or a New Profile may be created by clicking the associated buttons at the bottom of the form.
The appearance of this form differs based on the selected Service. When the Internet service is selected, the DNS labels and fields are hidden dynamically.
The location form is displayed by selecting the button labeled Location on the main page, and displays the settings for the currently selected location. The location may also be Deleted or a New Location may be created by clicking the associated buttons at the bottom of the form.
The Region selection list always starts with the Nationwide region. For most countries, that is the only region defined. The City selection list identifies each unique city name in a region. When a city name occurs more than once in the phone list, an ordinal number is automatically appended. For instance, Japan, Nationwide might present the following choices for Tokyo:
The Number selection list contains your phone dial numbers. These values cover the various combinations of local and long distance telephone number components. For instance, the 813-554-1101 number for United States, Tampa, Florida is presented in these forms:
The Modem selection list is populated with the available serial devices. Configuration is done via a Windows CE Device Properties dialog which can be launched by pressing the Configure button. Parameters which can be changed in this manner include:
- Ignore Dialtone
- Modem Speaker Volume
- Modem Data Ratesorr
- Click Close to exit the dialer.
- Click Update Phone List/Dialer to check for newer versions of the software.
